Santa Likes Chocolate Milk

We celebrated a Florida Christmas all of last week. Jake was excited to see that Santa stopped by his house and Santa even had time to leave him a few presents at Lovey and Papa's in Mississippi.
This was as close as Jake would get to Santa....
Merry Christmas!
FYI- Santa likes sugar free chocolate milk with his cookies!
Goofing off Christmas day
Jake is now on vacation for two weeks in Mississippi. We're pretty sure he's going to have a good time!
Happy New Year's!

Player to Be Named Later

Baby Greer will be joining our family in late July 2010!
Jeremy, Jake, and I have been waiting for this day for so long and are thankful that it's here. We are so excited to see Baby growing!
We told Jake that when Baby is 2 and Jake is 7, Jake can boss Baby around. He can even blame stuff on little Baby!

His Future

Picture Little Jeremy like this in a few years....
Jake thought he looked super cool wearing Daddy's glasses.

Bubblegum Trees

Jake made this for his favorite Mama because he's thankful for her and wants to give her a Bubblegum tree since she likes flowers!

Gggarararrrrrrrrr of a Halloween!

The threats can stop-I am finally updating the blog!
We had a really fun Halloween! Jake has inherited our gene of being cheap so he wanted and insisted to be a Dragon again this year. The costume was a little short and really hot but we're always happy because it kept us from buying a new one!
One of the two pictures Dragon would let me take. He was not crazy about this at all. He did, however, wear his costume through Wal-Mart only so people would talk to him. If somebody walked by and did not notice the four foot Dragon, he would yell, "Hey, don't you see me?!?" I wasn't embarrassed but, as shy as I am, it was a quick trip through the store!
Predictably, it was 80+ degrees so Dragon didn't make it very long. He came back with a good stash of candy (Mama and Daddy did have to check/taste a few pieces) and he passed out candy to the neighborhood kids.

At the end of the night, Jake ran across the street and fell in the pavement busting both of his knees and adding a new knot to his head. A few band aids later, and he's on the mend.
On Sunday, Daddy took us bowling (we really should start our own league). Jake scored two strikes almost immediately...beating his mother! I came back to show him who's boss but then Jeremy scored a Turkey. He's always trying to impress us!
We are now in the official countdown until the cutest niece in the whole world comes for a visit: 22 days away!

MSU vs. Florida

A brief encounter in New Orleans and Mississippi during the MSU/Florida game. It was a big loss for us but we had the gators scared! Three girlfriends and I drove half the night to New Orleans for a taste of Cafe du Monde and then headed to Starkville for true southern charm!
I have never been so happy to see this sign!
A favorite coffee in the Greer House
Mama and I at Mugshots. I took a few pictures of my food, but figured only Jeremy would like to see those (I emailed those to him at the time of consumption just to rub it in a little).
My camera battery died somewhere around Friday night at Mugshots.....right before I was three feet away from Erin Andrews. I would have been every man's dream wife had I taken a picture of her!

Dragon Tales

How am I going to go 4 days without seeing him?
While I'm on a much needed Girls Weekend Extravaganza trip to New Orleans and Mississippi, Jeremy and Jake will be home doing 'man things.' I have no idea what that entails nor am I asking for an agenda. I only hope that my boys have fun and know that I do miss them already!

Around Orange Park in 2 Days

We had a great, fun-packed weekend!
Jake had a t-ball game last night and (we think) the Red Sox beat the Mudcats. It's harder than you think to keep score in a t-ball game. Jake made it to first base twice and caught the ball a few times. As expected, he's more excited about the snack at the end of the game.
In reverse order, on Sunday the Greer family saw 'Alice in Wonderland' at the Florida Theatre. More fun than you can imagine! We can't wait to see the Nutcracker next month!
After t-ball on Saturday, we went down to the Middleburg Pumpkin Patch for a favorite fall flavor. Jake is now asking for a pumpkin pie (hopefully on sale at Publix!)!
Friday night we celebrated a friend's birthday. Mrs. Kristal just happens to be in our 'Top 5 Most Awesome Peeps' category so we wish her an amazing year!
Have a great week!

Why are vampires so scary?
Because they're made with gray crayons!

Red Sox Domination!

Red Sox 11 Dodgers 4
The way it should be.
Jake scored 2 runs last night against the Dodgers! We're so proud of our little monkey!
"Mama, don't you know that leaves change color?!?"
(Topic of discussion by all of the kids during warm-ups.)
If you look closely, this would be Jake laying out on the field with his legs crossed and laughing during the game.
One of his many hits. I apologize for the poor quality-I'm not professional. I'm a Mom.
Just after running to home base. Go Red Sox!!
Congrats to Uncle Seals, Aunt Melissa, and Austin-we are so excited you're having a girl!!

Finally! A Good Day!

As you know, Jake is in the middle of Pre-K, and sometimes he really likes it....and sometimes he's really bored in class. So, what does a 4 1/2 year old do? Act Out. In his words, "I already know this stuff so I'm doing what I want to do!"
After a long week of sitting in time out, he finally had a good day! All day. Daddy rewarded him with an orange push-up. Yeah Jake!
Our New Favorite Invention: a writing pen geared specifically toward left-handed people. Our little Lefty went to town with this and now wants to buy his Papa one (spoiler alert: you'll get one soon!)
Have a great weekend!!

Red Sox vs. Mudcats

Red Sox 6 Mudcats 6
My baby made it to first base! Just a few action shots of last night's game....
One Proud Daddy and His Boy
Once Jake got the swing of it, he loved it!!! He especially enjoyed playing in the outfield while his Daddy umpired (not professionally, but for fun). We are so proud of our Red Sox baby!!
Thanks to Wendy, Dotti, Anita, and Coach Michael for being our Greer Cheering Section!
