Knock, Knock!

Jake's new thing is telling jokes. For example:
Jake: Knock Knock! Who's there?
Mama: Who's there (again)?
Jake: Orange you glad it's me?
And then he laughs hysterically at his own sense of humor.....

Check out the spikes! Not my doing, but his.
Jeremy thought it would be funny to teach Jake how to stick food on his face. Needless to say, Jake was already a pro at this!
Puzzle playing...he is teaching his parents how to count to ten.

A busy week in the Greer Compound but we are still excited to come home....only 23 more days!
Love you! Suz

Funny Faces

Finally, some pictures of me and Jake! These are rare since I'm usually the one holding the camera. Anyway, last weekend we went to the Orange Park Fall Festival and had fun eating chicken-on-a-stick (Florida style) and ice cream. One of most missed moments in Mississippi is the Fall and its changing of colors. Good luck finding a palm tree in Florida that will change colors.....

See you in 28 days.....

P.S. Miss you Mama and Daddy!

Swiper the Swiping Fox!

Check out Jake's new 'do! I utterly despise cutting his blonde hair but finally agreed with the spouse that it was time. Jake asked for something cool and he got it!

The next morning Jake got mad at me because I was not spiking his hair the way he wanted. It's hard to be that good looking but he does it with grace and dignity! And, I'm not allowed to fix his hair anymore.....

(Yes, that is Chick Fil-A in the background-we couldn't resist! We went there after the haircut so I could publicly cry that my 3 1/2 year old looks like a 5 year old...time is flying to fast!)

Dear Ms. Princess

Ms, Princess,

If you are reading this, Jake does miss you everyday! He tells me each morning that you love him and will see him soon. We miss you too!

Love,

Suzanne and Jake

Goofing off....

I'm always trying to get Jake to smile for one good picture, and this is what I usually get: a crazy face! I think he's following in the Love Family Tradition of disliking the attention of a camera. After years of intense therapy and family embarrassment, he should overcome.

Finally....a little fuzzy...but improvement....
We are officially counting down the days until we'll be in the great state of Mississippi, or what I like to call home. In 38 days, we are leaving town....expect us on the 39th day! Love to all!

Meow! I'm hiding like a Cat!

This is how I found Jake yesterday as we were getting out of the car after school. 'Mama-I'm hiding like the neighbor's cat!'
'Surprise!'
Puddle Jumpin'....

Disco Pirate Bunnies!

A rare moment that I'm happy to live on the East Coast: we were able to spend two lazy days at the beach! Being bad parents, we have not taken Jake to the beach all summer (and he is a water baby!) so on Saturday we drove out to Jax Beach, ate at a nice Greek diner, and spent the rest of the afternoon with our toes in the sand!
We rode the Mayport ferry across (some body of water...but I don' t know which) and let Jake see all of the 'pirates' out looking for their buried treasures. I'm pretty sure they were shrimp boats but if he thinks they're pirates, then 'gggarrrrrr, matey!'
Saying farewell to land....
Once we got to the beach, the water was too cold to swim in so we enjoyed walking around in the shallow waves and searching for seashells for our seashell sandcastle.
'Look Mama! A pirate ship!'
Digging for shells....
He makes me do the dirty work....
Our final product: a Seashell Sandcastle!
Monday was the start of an exciting and busy week for us. After much decision, Jeremy and I decided to move Jake to a new school. Below is from his first day. He absolutely loves the new school because his teacher plays the banjo and there is a castle on the playground. My little Green Monstah is growing up!!
Have a great week! Think Pink!
