"When I was a fish, I swam in the pond," said Jake

Our Finest Achievement:
Now most of you that have met Jake know how active he is....but there is a dark side to him. Jake absolutely refused for 3 1/2 years to ride his bike like a normal kid! That is...until Sunday! Jeremy was outside washing our trucks (yes...applaud him) and Jake decided today was the day he was going to show the world that he can ride a bike but only when he wants to. Kudos to Jake! Now he can ask Santa for the super-cool Spiderman bike!
This is Jake mad at me...even with the smile hiding on his face.
Awhile back, we took Jake to the Jacksonville Zoo. Now most kids would run around screaming and harrassing the animals and other visitors, but not my brain child! Jake had his 'mouska-map' out and directed us all day around the zoo....He knew where everything was. Sure, the gorilla and jaguar are important animals to see...but he was more focused on where we need to go next, rather than where we are at the moment. He did get to feed a baby giraffe but (as you know, Jake hates to get slimy things on his hands) it was more fun for us than him!
*He insisted to where the jacket and hoody most of the day so the monkeys would not through bananas at him!
A flower for his favorite....
Thanks Aunt Amanda!! Jake was so excited to get a package in the mail from Target. He is brand-loyal! He slipped them on immediately and demanded McDonald's ice cream and a bike ride to the 'big kid' playground. The ladies love him....
Have a great week!!

Stylin and Profilin!

So another great weekend for the books. Except, for MSU. I've been a faithful fan of Croom since his inception in maroon and white but, living in Gator Country, I'm beginning to doubt my MSU obsession. Is this the best we can do? Is my lack of faith keeping the football boys from a winning season? Let's hope for a better week....
So we're just hanging around at the Greer compound. Jake is his bubbly self-playing, running, talking non-stop, and still loving his Mama the most!

We finally have a Chick-Fil-A within walking distance from our house so we go there on Thursday nights for family night. I almost punched another child for pushing Jake down the slide....but self control availed! And I made his Dad come get him! Jake loves family night because he gets free ice cream with sprinkles....Yummy!

Another Greer tradition is Cracker Barrel after church on Sundays because that is Papa's favorite restaurant and we have to go where Papa goes! Jake must play with the checkers before we can leave. It's tradition!

Isn't he one good looking husband?!?

Happy First Day of Fall!!

Added to the Wal-Mart List (or Greer College Fund)

I'm an incompetent mother sometimes-our new camera that I'm so excited to use all the time is out of batteries. Does a good mother keep extras around the house for little boy toys? Of course! But, I refuse to buy excess batteries because I will inevitably lose them. Along with my chapstick.
If batteries are on sale at CVS, then tomorrow (or Friday) pictures shall be posted. Until then....

Light Conversation with a Three Year Old

(All said riding our bike to the pool yesterday)
Me: We're going to a Relay for Life meeting tonight with Miss Wendy (our Staff person).
Jake: Mama, Miss Wendy is a great girl!
Me: She is?! I think so too. So you like Miss Wendy?
Jake: She's a great girl and you are a great girl. Y'all are my favorite, Mama!
Precious conversations like this make life so much more enjoyable!

Weekend worth the wait....

Jake is finally home after 2 1/2 weeks in Mississippi. Just to note: He DID NOT want to come home! In fact, he is mad that he can't live with Lovey and Papa and wants us to move in with them. I think the horse bribery is what got to him....

Our first family pic in forever.

Checking out his new toy at the John Deere Store.

Feeding the ducks at one of the neighborhood ponds. Jake was yelling, "Come here Duck..mmwhwhw!"

Mama bought Jake a dragon costume for Halloween and he loves to wear it around the house. He really is scary! Gggrrrr.....

Why Grandparents are the Best!

Jake has been in Mississippi for almost 2 1/2 weeks now and I'm going out of my mind! While I do enjoy the freedom, I miss the constant entertainment. Below are just a few pics of Jake enjoying his time with Lovey, Papa, and Bella the Dog.

Mr. George made the new tire swing special for Jake. Rumor has it that Jake must swing in it for several hours every day. I also heard he showed his favorite cousin, Lauren, how to swing. For when she's a big girl....

The hat is so the deer can't see him. Very clever....
