Go to Hell Ole Miss!

Nothing major to report this week other than Jake is staying in Mississippi until next weekend. I cry thinking about it! But he was having so much fun on his new tire swing that I couldn't make him come home early. So Jeremy and I get to sit and stare at one another for 7 more days. Yeah....
So living in Gator Country is not that much fun when you're a Bulldog but below is one of my co-workers and I on 'Game Day Friday.' Our new director let us dress down and support our teams. Go Dawgs! We'll be watching them tomorrow night at the Ale House in Jax. Wish us luck!

Happy Labor Day!

What do you do when your childless?

Since Jake has been in Mississippi for a full week now, I really have nothing fascinating to post about. However, since I'm slightly bored, and my readers must be bored by my blogging, below are some interesting facts:
About Me:
1. When I find something I like, I stick to it. My addictions include: fasweet sugar, Burt's Bees watermelon chapstick, Law and Order: SVU, and sudoku. I use at least 2 of these every day.
2. I'm obsessed with clean carpet. Really, I hate carpet, but since I have it, I must make do. I like to see the vacuum lines in my living room and bedrooms. If Jeremy wouldn't get mad, I would vacuum everyday like I did when I stayed home with the munchkin. You should see me with my steam cleaner...
3. My single life in college was so much fun but it's like I don't remember any of it once Jeremy and Jake came along. My life began when I saw Jeremy at the Dock....
4. I work with cancer patients every day in some way or another. From trying on wigs to finding transportation to planning a children's party-I get to help those affected by cancer and it's the easiest and hardest job I've ever had. But totally worth it.
My Jeremy:
1. He never does something half way. It's all or nothing, good or bad. Don't start something you can't finish.
2. We laugh at all of our own jokes-and usually, we're the only ones that find them funny.
3. I call him a squirrel sometimes because he tends to ball stuff up and stick it somewhere, anywhere. You should see his truck-it's so cute!
4. He's just amazing-he's a wonderful best friend, daddy, son-in-law, and a superfantastic husband.
Jake:
1. He's very particular about what he wants and does not want. You can't fool him with anything. Don't even try. He knows.
2. He picks out his own clothes and shoes when shopping. For example, I wanted to buy him new Spiderman shoes before he went to MS, and he insisted that he did not need new light ups. Instead, me made Lovey go with him to buy new ones. He will only get dressed in the morning once he approves his attire.
3. At school the teachers call him 'Baby Jake' because he's so sweet. If a friend hits him, he won't hit him back. We finally taught him to say 'not nice!' Jake believes the best of everyone.
4. His favorite snack is a sprinkled donut from the local grocer. Every Friday before school, we stop at Publix for a specially made sprinkled donut and chocolate milk. The girl behind the counter flirts with him!

(Long Post: Brace yourself!)
Surprise! Jake is in Mississippi! Since Fay decided to hang around longer than expected, I couldn't post soon enough that Jeremy, Jake, Molly, and I trekked through the hurricane-like weather on Wednesday morning to the Orlando airport so Jake could fly to MS. We survived the worst of the weather in the car!

Jake was so excited to see his Papa Bear! You can't really tell from the pictures but he was happy to be there. He kept Papa awake during the flight to Atlanta and then on to Jackson. He even made Papa wake up from his little nap because they were getting ready to land the plane. It was always great to spend a few minutes with my Dad at the airport. We miss them so much!

My big boy on his way to ride in the airplane!
So we got to spend the rest of the week at home (with no satellite) while Fay stayed for an over-extended visit. While the weather was worsening in Orlando, we got to go through the Ikea store for some quality shopping time...best store in the world! Fay finally left on Saturday with only minor damage to our house. Below is a picture of the side of the house from wind damage. The worst part of the storm was the time without Direct TV....thank goodness for Chad, the repairman, because he came late Saturday night in the 65 mph winds and depressing rain so I could finish my Law and Order: SVU marathon!

Sunday, Jeremy, Molly, and I drove in a Penske truck to St. Petersburg, FL to deliver some much needed diapers to a nursing home. We knew all were grateful. To get into St. Pete you have to cross this incredibly long and dangerous (only to me) bridge. This is the only picture I got of that trip-a rainbow appeared as we were leaving town. It was like a sign that everything was okay after crossing that horrible bridge twice!

Jake will be in Mississippi until Friday when he and my folks drive down here for the weekend. We can't wait to see him again-I think he would rather live on the farm that with his Mama....I think Lovey and Papa bribed him with a horse if he would move in with them.
Have a great (sunny and dry) week!

Yes, Ducks do bite!

So we had a great weekend doing family stuff. We absolutely love riding bikes, especially on Saturday mornings so we can go to Publix and get a yummy sprinkled donut (Jake's favorite!). Below is us getting ready to trek out in the wilderness of Oakleaf and see our favorite sites. We also got to feed the ducks in the pond some much needed breakfast. They were actually eating out of our hands! I think Jeremy and I had more fun with that than Jake!

We have 2 great Adirondack chairs on our back porch and we can sit out and watch the airplanes from the local air base fly by. Jake decided to get his gun out and hunt for more ducks.....

These are the ducks he was trying to shoot for lunch! Our neighbors (who will remain anonymous) have ducks growing or whatever in their backyard! We don't understand why either. I don't think you can eat them. It's so crazy-you get a nasty letter if your yard is not mowed to perfection but you can have wild, disease-carrying ducks in your backyard. Strange...

Jake saw this shirt over the weekend and insisted on buying it! He kept asking me to take pictures of him in his 'wild man' shirt this morning before school. I know I'm biased, but he's so cute like this!!

Tis all for now! When Miss Fay makes up her mind, we'll let you know if our house is still in tact!

Workin for the Weekend

As everyone knows, we've been in Florida for almost two years now and still have very little active social life to speak of. One of my new favorite friends and co-workers introduced us to free family movie night at Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. Hands down-best ice cream in the world...except none of it is sugar free. Picture a hyped up Spiderman racing through Target at 10:00 on a Friday night....Sugar free is a wonderful thing! Anyway, that is our plan for tonight. Florida weather is perfect for this one reason alone: outside entertainment. There is nothing like sitting in the parking lot of the best ice cream shoppe and watching a kids movie. And, I have a coupon to Chick-Fil-A. Rock on!
In a few weeks, Jeremy and I will be in search of something to temporarily fill our (almost) non-existant 'adult' social life. My folks are driving over for a visit so we use that opportunity to go on dates like we did, pre-marriage and family. What to do? What to do? I think last time we ended up eating at a dive and then people watching at the mall. Is that really entertainment? Oh yeah! However, as I type this, it almost sounds sad....maybe we should look for something new to do on date night! I'll keep my faithful readers posted as we figure out a fun night on the town....

Do ducks bite?

One of favorite times of day (other than Mama time) is bath time. We were so excited when we moved into this house because of the master bath room. When you have a husband that is over 6 feet tall and 3 year old that is taller than all the other kids his age, a garden tub makes sense. You can pour a glass of wine (er...tea), grab your favorite trashy magazine, and Boom! You are relaxing in a warm, soapy bath.....Not in our house! As you can see our bath tub was immediately taken over by Jake and his toys. There are more toys in there than in the playroom. They all seem to migrate towards water.
Thanks, Papa Bear, for the duck decoy. He loves to get in his afternoon swim!

Who's Your Favorite?

So this is how we like to spend our evenings at home. After a nice, long bike ride (yes, light exercise in the Greer family), we curl up and call our Lovey and Papa Bear. Obviously, I'm Jake's favorite! He reminds me daily!
Daddy bribes him with pink Whoppers!

Our sidekick Molly after a hard day at the office. She insists on going to work everyday with Jeremy and acts out (angrily for an ankle biter) when he does not include her in anything. She's so jealous of Jake.

Remember Syndrome?

So we have moved over to the dark side and entered the blogging world. Since we laugh at our own jokes, we'll be okay if our readers don't actually read our page. Jeremy and I recently bought a new camera while in search for the Wizard of Oz (only at Best Buy for those of you with children) so we can now take pictures of our seed.

This is my favorite picture of Jake at the moment. He really thinks he's a superhero and loves to be a handy helper!
