Jake...Where Are You?

We've been 2 weeks without Jake and we miss him. This is the only picture I have gotten since the last time I saw him. Sully the Dog is Jake's best friend at Lovey and Papa Bear's house.
Jeremy and I have had fun alone together but we definitely need our baby back home. Jake keeps telling me 2 more weeks but he's coming home Friday whether he likes it or not!
Have a great week!

Nifty, thrifty...Look Who's 50!!

Happy 50th Birthday Daddy!!
We hope you have a special day!
We love you!

9 Days in Mississippi

For the few that I talk to regularly, Jake and I made a mad dash to Mississippi last week. First, my grandparents were hospitalized for various reasons and then my sweet aunt passed away from a short battle with cancer. Betty was an amazing educator and always strived to, in her words, 'make a difference.'
While at home, I did get to see a few of my favorite people. My niece, Lauren, is the sweetest little girl in the world. She also adores her Aunt Suz--we have matching flip flops for the summer!
My BFF Deanne--she always makes us happy when we're sad. Thanks Deanne!
Old College Girlfriends--two are preggers. Congrats Lacey and Dana!
Seals and Austin rode with us to Lexington to see my grandparents in the hospital. After much work, Austin was finally calling me Suz.
My Nanny. She talked on and on (she was known as an excellent conversationalist!) about going to her new nursing home, making banana pudding for my birthday, and how much she loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Unexpectedly, we lost her the next day. I miss her more every day but I promised my granddaddy I would work on her banana pudding recipe so he wouldn't have to do without his sweets.
My sweet Granddaddy. He is not known to be much of a talker but it was wonderful to hear his old stories of life before us. Please keep him in your prayers as he deals with life after Nanny.
I'm so thankful that I got to spend special time with my Nanny the day before she left us. She was a very special lady--I'll always be thankful for being her granddaughter.
Jake is in Mississippi for two more weeks, so if you see him, tell him I miss him!

I'm How Old?

Lately, we've been working on our numbers with Jake-birth dates, months, ages, etc. I explained to him how special spring is because his Papa will be turning 50, Mama will be 27, and Jake will be 4.
Below is what I got from his teacher yesterday.
I asked Jake if he really thinks I'm turning 36 and he just laughed at me and told me I was old. But, to make me feel better, he said Daddy was an old man!

Sidewalk Chalkin'

This past weekend was perfect weather to be outside enjoying life. Jake brought out the sidewalk chalk and went to town. He's very artistic....
Jake's octopus
Jake's self-portrait. Technically, he's not 3 1/2 years old but 47 months old.
10 Days until Mama and Daddy are here...
30 days until Jake's 4th Birthday...
Have a great week!

When Daddy's away, Bumblebees play!

Jake and I had so much fun last weekend while Daddy was in Mississippi! We got to spend quality time with our favorite Miss Wendy and friends, Mrs. Anita and Drew.
We did everything on our to-do list except make brownies (we were lazy in the kitchen). Maybe this weekend we'll bake something....
Mamaw Romie gave Jake this superhero puzzle for Christmas and he mastered it shortly after Christmas. He asked me to take this picture and send it to Mamaw Romie and Grandy. Thank y'all!!
Daddy knew that he had to bring back a special treat for his man so he and Papa Bear got Jake this handy dandy flashlight. Jake wears it all over the house and looks in dark places for creepy things and scary things and big hairy monster things.
14 days until Lovey and Papa are here....
33 days until Jake's 4th Birthday....
