Bundy the Bunny

Jake drew this a few weeks back in honor of Easter. He is definitely artistic! Anything we can color, paint, draw-Jake is on board. Just thought it was cute (for relatives out there...this is a good computer background!).Love ya!

We Know How to Read?

It's not so much that I'm a slacker when it comes to blogging this week, it's that I'm pre-occupied. My evil (I say this because I love her) mother got me hooked on the Twilight Saga so for the last 8 days, I've been using all of my precious spare time to read instead of doing important things like playing with Jake, cleaning the house, and blogging. I did finally finish all four books in record time and the fifth unfinished manuscript. All wonderful and totally worth reading! I think Jeremy and Jake are sick of vampires and villains now because I've also watched the first movie twice in the last 8 days. So until November 20th, I will end all of my pre-occupation with this movie. Wish me luck.
In other news, we've been lazy this week. Below are a few pics of Jake and Molly playing ball in the house. We don't have much furniture around and nothing breakable so why not? They both love big balls as much as they love each other! Molly can suck the air out of any sized ball....just ask her.
The soccer ball did not survive.
Have a great weekend!

The Bargain Easter Bunny

The year the Easter Bunny came a little late....like 3 days late. Jake knows he's a bargain shopper just like Santa Claus anyway!
"The Easter Bunny sure does love me!" Have a great weekend!

Eating Worms!

Sorry for the late post-last week was incredibly busy all around.
Jake did have a birthday party at school on Wednesday. He was really embarrassed when he got to stand on the table while his class sang the birthday song to him.
Eatin' worms
Isn't he the best looking 4 year old you've ever seen?
This year we took Jake to the Clay County Fair to celebrate. I only had to ride the Ferris wheel (or steering wheel as he called it) with Jake. He has gained so much independence that he didn't need Mama or Daddy beside him on the other rides. He had such a great time and promised me I could take him again next year!
Sorry, we don't have any Easter pictures this year.

Special thanks to Mrs. Kristal and Miss Wendy for helping us on Friday! We could not have made it through the weekend without wonderful friends like you!! We love you!

Worms? That You Can Eat?

Happy 4th Birthday Jake!!
Four years ago today, at around 1-ish (I forget time due to labor), Jacob Glenn Greer entered into our family. We are so thankful to celebrate another birthday with him.
Below is his worm cake he requested in detail. It must be green (on the inside) with green writing and it must look like dirt and it must have ooey-gooey worms! So everyone knows that I am not at all talented in the kitchen but I worked really hard on this!
Jake-if you ever read this, Happy Birthday my sweet! We love you!
Waking up the Birthday Boy with a song...this was right before he begged me to stop singing.
Helping Mama make his cake yesterday. He's more gifted in the kitchen than his parents.
Jake is having a little party at school followed by a fun night at the Clay County Fair on Friday. More pics soon to come.
Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Getaway to St. George Island

Over the weekend, we met Mama and Daddy in Tallahassee to pick Jake up. Then we drove down to St. George Island, FL for a little sight seeing.
Jake and I toured this old lighthouse. He was really excited to see that far away.
No-that is not us cut off in the picture. Our wonderful tour guide tried to take a picture of us but instead captured the moment with total strangers.
For your useless knowledge, 92 steps plus 12 more up a ladder and through a small hole. Congratulate Jake and I for exercising.
Chillin' on the beach. The water was freezing, not to to mention the wind blowing hard. It was hilarious to see tourists in their teeny bikinis playing in the ocean!

Cousins, Cakes...and Transformers!

Today is Jake's last day in Mississippi for a while so Mama (well, Lindy...thanks Lindy!) finally sent me a few pics of Jake's 'Mississippi Birthday.'
Below is just a cute picture of Jake trying to eat supper while his cousin Austin took his socks and shoes off for him. I'm surprised Jake didn't freak out over this! He's not crazy about people messing with his Wall-E Shoes!
The Mississippi Birthday Party
Jake said this to me yesterday:
"I'm so happy that I'm 4 years old today! This is my birthday week. Thanks, Mama, for letting me turn 4 years old!"
I'm such a good mother.

1,453 Days Old...And Counting...

I guess I'm being a sappy Mom but about this time every year, I reflect on how much Jake has changed and grown. This time next week he'll be 4 years old! I'm happy that he's growing up but I'm also sad that my baby is officially not a baby anymore.
What 4 Year Old Boys Can Do:
Ride a bike
Feed/Dress/Bath himself
Buckle his own seat belt
Write his name
Sing the Alphabet song (to everyone)
Recognize letters and numbers (we spell out all words now)
Tell jokes
Play catch with Mama and Daddy
Order his own food at restaurants
(I could probably be more specific and go on and on...)
Below are just a few of my favorite pictures taken after we moved to Florida. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
October 2006-18 months old. Taken right after we moved to Jacksonville. He had just started riding his tricycle really good.
September 2006-17 months old. Jake's first time in the Atlantic Ocean.
June 2007-26 months old. My water baby.
June 2007-a trip to the Alligator Farm with Lovey and Papa Bear.
Jake is having a small Madagascar birthday party at his 'Mississippi School' (daycare in Puckett) tomorrow followed by a Transformers party at his 'Florida School' next Wednesday.
Hopefully, he'll be happy to come home this weekend and we can get some good pictures.
Have a great day!
