Joining Red Sox Nation

After yard work, we finished a great week with a little t-ball practice! Jake has his first practice this Tuesday night so we practiced a little over the weekend. We're really excited that Jake will be on team Red Sox (we love 'em!) this fall.

Wish us luck for a good season!
P.S. We are also more than excited that Lovey, Papa, and Aunt Nan will be visiting us this weekend! We cannot wait to see you!! Love you!

First Day of School!

Yesterday was Jake's first official day of Pre-K. He did better than Jeremy and I did-it was almost like any other day to him except he got to go to the 'better classroom because it has cooler toys.'
He only had one meltdown, which, in his defense, is rare. While in big school, the teachers have to call him by his legal name, Jacob. He immediately noticed that Jake was not used on his stuff and freaked out a little. His teacher, Ms. W., explained that he can still be Jake any time he wants but at big school, she has to call him Jacob. He did not care for that too much! However, he was excited to write his whole name as something different. He also recognized all of the words beginning with 'b' on the chalkboard. We are so proud of our little Monkey!
In his Papa's words,
"Put on a happy face! Put on a happy face! Put on a happy Face! Put on a happy face!"
Nobody can resist those blue eyes!
The Ultimate Bookbag
After a very long day, Jake survived his first day of Pre-K!! We are so proud of him!
And as an added bonus, Uncle Joe stopped by on his way from New York to Orlando. Jake had so much fun flirting with Joe's friends and wrestling on the floor.
Thanks Uncle Joe! We hope to see you next week!

Life...Our Way

We've been really busy lately so I apologize for the absence of Jake pictures. Nothing major or fascinating is going on...just little daily things that keep us on our toes!
Below is our family portrait alongside the St. Johns Rivers-water that we would not normally be near (smells funny) but thought we would risk infectious disease for a family pic. Below is just a cute picture of Jake pretending to take a nap. After two hours of this, he was up and hyper as usual!
We took Jake to his Pre-K orientation this week and he loves his new teacher, Ms. W! He's played in her class already so he showed his new friends where the good toys were. Ms. W said that Jake could easily skip Pre-K and move on to Kindergarten but we know he would miss his friends to much, not to mention what it would do to his mother! Along with normal class stuff, he'll take a basic computer class.
At 4 1/2 we can:
Write our name really small
Write any words as long as Mama spells them out
Sound out letters in words
Spell and Write (on his very own) Dog, Cat, Water, Mama, Daddy, Molly, Papa
Completely independent with dressing/bathing himself
Play Games (he beats us at Memory and Old Maid)
Knows and can give directions to our usual spots
Practice T-ball
Feed the dog without Mama asking
And so many more.....
We officially start Pre-K on Monday morning! Wish us luck!!!

Monkey for Sale!

I am now convinced that Wal-Mart has everything...

Jake is officially signed up for t-ball this fall! We are taking bids for stand-in relatives and/or grandparents. We love our family but also understand that they can't be at every game so if interested, you'll have to first endure Jake's grueling interview process (bring candy!)!

So Long July! August, here we are!

What better way to end July than by being the Line Leader at school? For the first time in 2 years of schooling, Master Jake was the Line Leader! He says he's not chosen for this because he talks too much, but this week he proved everyone wrong! Normally, he is the Caboose or Light Switcher-both of those jobs are important but we are so proud of our baby for having a great week at school!
Below are a few (very loud) instruments Jake made last week. The kazoo sends Molly into panic mode, which is fun to watch!
We had our MSU picnic on Saturday at Jax Beach and apparently the clouds forgot to tell us the sun was hidden back there somewhere. The whole day was cloudy and overcast yet all three of us came home with red faces. Well...since Jeremy is in the less-than-hair phase, his whole head was burned.
Poor baby had to bathe in aloe just to take a nap. He's a trooper!
Yes, Mother, we have sunscreen. I'll remind you this is the first and last time our child has ever been sun burnt! Get a good look at those red cheeks because you'll never see him like that again!
