Superheroes Ate My Sandwich!

Below is how we found Jake's sandwich yesterday-apparently Batman and his superhero buddies decided they like peanut butter and jelly!

For Halloween, Monkey wants to be a skeleton and he wants Sweet Pea to be a mermaid (we call her 'Morgan the Mermaid' because she LOVES water!). So we are now on the hunt for for costumes.

Sweet Pea is really coming out of her shell and showing more personality. She smiles, giggles, and coos a lot. I finally caught a couple pictures of her smiling and talking to her mobile. We think she's going to be a talker like her big brother!

We'll be home in 2 weeks to see family and let everyone fall in love with Sweet Pea just like us! We hope to see you soon!

9 Weeks and Already Full of Sass!

Contrary to the note in the previous post, I did take Monkey back to school and he didn't seem to mind! In fact, he says it's not as boring as it was last week. He automatically goes to time out during recess because of his talking but we're letting it slide for the most part-as long as he only gets his name on the board and no check marks.

Sweet Pea is growing like a small, screaming weed. I took her for her 2 month check up and 4 shots this week.

Bossy Britches!

Don't get me wrong, Monkey loves school! However, he doesn't like to get up by an alarm. He's more of a I'll-wake-up-on-my-own-time kind of kid. He wrote me this note after school because I made him get up early Monday morning.

He's doing great in school. He does go to time-out on the playground every day but is still coming home with green lights. I asked him why and what he talks about so much but he just tells me he has 'things to say.' He's very opinionated! Monkey's teacher said he'll talk to anyone in the class so moving him around has proven unsuccessful. Jeremy and I would never have talked that much in school! I don't know where Monkey gets it from....

Sweet M is 8 weeks old today and still a doll! She's holding her head up more, smiling all the time, and sleeping about 5 hours through the night. Tonight she's moving from the cradle in our room to her crib in her room. I'm a little nervous but know it's for the better. She's just growing up so fast!

She sleeps exactly like her big brother and Daddy. So cute!

Sir Talks-A-Lot

Monkey has officially survived 9 days of kindergarten! His name has been on the board for talking. Every. Single. Day.

As long has he brings home green lights, I'm okay with that! He's made new friends and loves the playground when he's not in time out. He is bored with his classwork (they're only counting to 20 this year!) but we're reading more at home and he's reading more complex words now.

Sweet Pea is 7 weeks old and more adorable than ever. Monkey and I took her to Doing Dishes and put her footprints on a tile. I did the same for Jake at 7 weeks so I can't wait to see the size comparison. She is extremely relaxed as long as she's not hungry and it's not 5 o'clock. There's something about that hour that she doesn't care for. She is also holding her head up and pushing up with her arms. She's really strong!

Sweet Pea absolutely adores her big brother! When she hears or sees him, she perks up!

They Call Me a Kindergartener!

Monkey started his first day of Kindergarten today. He was excited and nervous all at the same time but definitely did not want to stay home one more year!

The force was with him this morning.

Sometimes he's a little too much like his Daddy! But they're both so cute!

Monkey said he likes his new classroom and made friends already. During lunch time, the principal spoke to the school and Monkey said that he did not want to go to her office ever. He said he didn't get enough time to eat lunch or snack so he'll have to eat a little faster tomorrow. He would rather school slow down so he could take his time :)

Let's hope for a week of 'green lights!'

My Aunt Amanda is The Best!

Aunt Amanda and Tater stayed with us last week. We were so happy to have them here and sad to see them go!

Tater got to play in the ocean for the first time with her Monkey cousin and seemed to enjoy herself. I think she loves doing anything he does too.

My niece is so beautiful and smarter than any child I've ever met! Jake really loves his Lala and can't wait to see her again in October.

Sweet Pea playing in the sink. She LOVES water. As of today, she's graduated to the big bath tub and screams hysterically when taken out.

She sleeps just like her Daddy and Monkey-with one arm over her head. Too cute!

4 Weeks and Flyin'

Things have been so busy around the Greer house this week! I can't believe we've had M for 4 weeks now and that my little Monkey is starting kindergarten next week! My babies are growing up much faster than I want!

In my usual backward-ness, a look over the last week, starting with today:

M took her first nap in her room today while Jeremy and I hung pictures upstairs. She seemed to enjoy the nap and we enjoyed a little quality time with our hammer and nails. Her room is the only room nearly finished in the house. I missed out on the 'nesting' phase during pregnancy since we were moving so I'm slowly getting things in order.

Dear friends came over last weekend and cooked us a delicious dinner. Mama Patty is our adopted grandmother to the kiddos and Kristal will be the coolest adopted aunt!

M enjoying her first real (sink) bath last weekend. She LOVES the water! When I was pregnant, Jake and I would swim every day and she would kick and kick while in the pool. She and Jake are definitely my water babies! Now, when we bathe her (she's already outgrown the small sink), she gets fussy when we take her out. Guess she'll enjoy long baths....

Finally! Mr. Handsome is as adorable as ever! He's really excited to meet his teacher at orientation this week and looking forward to playing with all of his new friends. His Transformer backpack is loaded down with school supplies that he's ready to use. His only worry is that he won't be able to read as good as his friends. So....for my memory's sake, below is a list of words he can read and write. Hopefully, I'll remember this when he's older!

We also went to the MOSH last week and learned all about our body and space. Jake really enjoyed the museum and is planning to go back with his Daddy soon.
